Sandy joined our staff last fall after working in customer service and bookkeeping for over ten years. Before that she was a stay-at-home mom for eight years raising three sons, Benjamin (age 19), Matthew (age 16) and Jonathan (age 14) with her husband Chris of 26 years. They have a home in Lyman that they share with their spoiled Black Lab, Katie, and their new addition Caesar, who is a Bengal cat with lots of energy and lots to say!
Sandy thoroughly enjoys working in the office at Christ Church and with the many volunteers here at the church! She's very thankful for this opportunity!
Christ Church Federated, a United Methodist/UCC church, is excited to welcome Pastor Susan B. Ellery to the pulpit. Since beginning her ministry, Pastor Sue, as she prefers to be called, has energized the membership with the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Sue is a native of Newburyport, MA. She graduated from Pierce School in Boston and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. She answered the call to ministry in 1996, having come out a career in business administration and accounting.
She has served United Methodist churches in Lynn, Bradford, and Haverhill, MA as well as Woodville and North Haverhill, NH. Pastor Sue retired in 2013, but was then called out of retirement to serve First United Methodist Church in Portsmouth, NH for three years. A year and five months later she was appointed to Christ Church.
Pastor Sue is a proud mother of five, grandmother of three, and now a great-grandmother of two. Her hobbies are writing, painting, quilting, gardening, designing and creating jewelry, and music!
