We are the hands and feet of Christ, both locally and globally. We support the wider work of the United Church of Christ and the United Methodist Church. Working with our sister churches, we can address national and international issues far beyond our immediate reach. We minister to those in need globally through the AMIGOS projectChurch World Service, Blanket Sunday, Haiti Relief, American Bible Society, and other special offerings. We become Christ's hands when we wait on tables at the Bon Appetit community meals program, knit caps for the Seafarers' Friends, pack buckets of food for the Honduran AMIGOS Project, assemble school and health kits, co-host the Watoto African Children's Choir, and help with reconstruction work in New Orleans. Each year, new opportunities to serve our neighbors near and far arise, including Caring Unlimited, Camp Sunshine, Neighbors in Need, First Parish Radio, and Friendship House. Christ Church is ever ready and willing to serve others in the name of Christ.
Reaching out, helping, and building relationships are essential ways we live out our love for Christ. We spread God's Word through electronic media, print materials, handwritten notes, and face-to-face visits and witnessing. We knit prayer shawls and prayer squares to comfort those in need of a physical reminder of God's presence in difficult times. We deliver home-cooked meals to those recovering from injury and illness. The flowers that grace our worship space are delivered to the homebound as reminders of God's glorious creation and Christ's infinite love. Our buildings house activities that reach out throughout our community, such as Scouts, Narcotics Anonymous, Habitat for Humanity, and local food banks and distribution efforts.
