APPLICATION for CHOIR MEMBERS

Openings in these sections:  Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass. If you don’t know your voice range, the Choir Director will place you in the right section.

Experience: Have you ever sung, even just in the pews or at camp? We’re happy to have anyone who enjoys “making a joyful noise.” Guidance will be provided as needed.

Physical Qualifications: Must be able to lift a light folder containing a few pages of sheet music (regardless of whether you read music); must have sufficient vision to see the director (a distance of about 6 feet). All qualifications are negotiable; accommodations will be made for dedicated singers.

Hours: We sing in worship from September through June. Seasonal openings are available: for instance, singing for Advent and Christmas only, or just for Lent and Easter. Choir rehearsal is Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m., and at 9:15 a.m. for half an hour before Sunday service.

Wages: Satisfaction and joy in service to the Lord. As St. Augustine is said to have written, “Qui cantat, bis orat, meaning, “Someone who sings, prays twice.”

Fringe Benefits: Social Security – the security of social fellowship.

Retirement: The retirement benefits are out of this world!
